ANN ARBOR, MICH. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team will kick off its preseason schedule by hosting the annual Maize and Blue Scrimmage on Saturday (Oct. 25) at Crisler Arena. The scrimmage will immediately follow the Michigan-Purdue football game, which is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
The gates for Crisler Arena will open at 6 p.m. for fans wanting to attend the scrimmage, with a tentative start of 7 p.m. for the scrimmage activities. After introductions of the 2003-04 Michigan team, the Wolverines will be split into Maize and Blue teams and play two 12-minute halves. Following the scrimmage, the Wolverines will sign autographs and be available for photo opportunities with fans on both ends of the Crisler Arena floor.
The Wolverines' preseason schedule continues with its first of two exhibition games. The Maize and Blue will face Michigan Tech Saturday, Nov. 8, in its opening exhibition game. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
In the second and final exhibition tuneup, the Wolverines will face the Fayetteville Patriots as part of the National Basketball Developmental League's "Going Back to School" schedule. The Wolverine-Patriot matchup will kick off the NBDL's tour, in which six league teams will play exhibition games against various NCAA Division I teams Nov. 14-23.
The Wolverines open the regular season against Oakland on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
