Senior guard Josh Bartelstein begins his senior season and his third year writing the J-Bart Blog. He will give all Wolverine fans an inside look into the program and life outside of basketball during the 2012-13 season.

What's up everyone?

Nothing like writing a blog after watching our football team beat State! Wow, what a game by both teams. We fought to the end and Brendan Gibbons was clutch as always. When you hear about how hard our football team works and how much that game meant to them, it is awesome to see them pull off the win. The Paul Bunyan trophy is home!

Our team isn't doing too badly, either. After about a week of practices, we are right where I would expect us to be. The competition has been great, practices super intense and as always a ton of coaching. We have been scrimmaging quite a bit to get used to playing with each other. Some of the improvements guys have made are just incredible. It is more evident in sports than anything else, but hard work really does pay off. We had guys in the gym all spring and summer working for this time right now.

Two guys I want to really point out are Jon Horford and Jordan Morgan. Both guys are gym rats, always getting up jumpers, working on their post moves and their ball handling. In the first week of camp those two have really played great basketball. Rebounding, finishing around the basket, passing, pretty much everything you want out of a big guy, those two guys have shown. I get so many emails telling me we need to play bigger. Well this year you just might see that because those guys are showing they deserve to be on the court.

The talent is there no doubt about it, now it is all about having this team come together and play defense. If we can play team defense, get back in transition and rebound this team can do something special. The Big Ten is loaded as always but I love what I see and how hard the team is working. Our first game is in less than two weeks and I think you guys are going to love what you see!

Now onto a matter I have meant to blog about for a while, but now is the perfect time.

I'm not one to complain because we at Michigan get amazing gear, but I'm convinced Coach (LaVall) Jordan has his own adidas contract. I'm talking along the lines of Derrick Rose, and now Justin Bieber -- Coach Jordan has stuff NO ONE else has.

From shoes to sweats to sweaters to v-necks, adidas doesn't sell his stuff in stores. Coach already has a ton of swag, but his exclusive gear he has pushes it over the top. I should point out that all the stuff he has is "so fresh" as Corey (Person) would say. Coach Jordan just replies he has a "guy." If anyone knows who this "guy" is please write in to the blog because I need to know him.

I'll write again next week as we inch closer to our first game. Keep writing in to askjbart20@gmail.com with comments and questions.

Again congrats to our football team and our seniors, I know guys like Denard Robinson and Jordan Kovacs really wanted this one, along with all of you.

Go Blue!
