The Wolverines had four players reach double digits in tonight's 67-54 win over Wayne State: junior Daniel Horton led the team with 17, junior Lester Abram and sophomore Dion Harris each came away with 12, and sophomore Brett Petway reached 11 points.
Michigan out-rebounded Wayne State 38-28 for the contest. The main difference came on the offensive side of the boards, with the Wolverines bettering the Warriors by six (14-8).
The Wolverines stopped Warriors scoring with the aid of seven blocks. Sophomore Courtney Sims came away with three, sophomore Brett Petway with two, and sophomore Dion Harris and fifth-year senior J.C. Mathis each swatted one.
Sophomore Courtney Sims had three of Michigan's seven total blocks. Sims led the conference in blocks last season with 68, and was the first freshman to lead the league in blocks since 1996.
Sophomore Brent Petway achieved a double-double against Wayne State, leading Michigan with 15 rebounds along with his 11 points.
