2004-05 BKM vs. Binghamton -- Postgame Notes

With Michigan's 59-46 victory over Binghamton, U-M maintains a perfect 4-0 record at Crisler Arena in Preseason NIT contests. The Maize and Blue are also 16-0 all-time in NIT games played at Crisler Arena.

Michigan has won its last six straight NIT games. The Wolverines have also won their last six straight games dating back to last season.

With Michigan's eight team blocks, the Wolverines tied a U-M Preseason NIT record. The last time the Maize and Blue reached eight blocks was in 1995 against Weber State.

Michigan held Binghamton to just 46 points for a U-M Preseason NIT record. The Maize and Blue smashed the previous record of 62, set against Weber State (Nov. 17, 1995).

Michigan's accurate shooting from the free-throw line set numerous marks for the Wolverines. The Maize and Blue recorded a team-best Preseason NIT record with a .913 shooting percentage from the charity stripe. Their 21 free throws also set a new Preseason NIT record for the Wolverines, breaking their previous team-best of 16 against Bradley (Nov. 21, 1986). U-M also set a Preseason NIT best in free-throw attempts with 23.

With his personal best four blocks against Binghamton, Brent Petway set a new Michigan NIT Preseason record in blocks. The record was previously held by Robert Traylor (1996-98) who set the mark twice in the 1995 Preseason NIT with three blocks against Arizona and Weber State.

Brent Petway set a career best with four blocks. He surpassed his previous game high of three blocks, which he had on three different occasions.

Daniel Horton's four three-point field goals against Binghamton ties a Michigan record for most three-point baskets in a Preseason NIT contest. Horton passed Dugan Fife (1993-96) who set the record with three against DePaul (Nov. 15, 1995).

Dion Harris set a U-M Preseason NIT record in free-throw percentage with a perfect 6-for-6 (1.000 percentage) from the charity stripe. Michigan's Louis Bullock (1996-99) previously held the Maize-and-Blue best with a7-for-8 (87.5 percentage) performance against Arizona (Nov. 22, 1995).

With his one block to contribute to Michigan's eight total against Binghamton, Dion Harris matched a career best in blocks. The sophomore has reached this mark three other times.
