Wolverines to Hold Canned Food Drive for Ann Arbor Food Gathers

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's and women's basketball teams will be holding canned food drives to benefit the Food Gatherers Food Bank of Ann Arbor. It marks the second straight season the Wolverine basketball programs will hold food gathering campaigns. This week, the women's basketball team will hold its drive on Thursday (Nov. 19) at its game against Southern Mississippi at 7 p.m., while the men's team will hold its food drive on Friday (Nov. 20), when it takes on Houston Baptist at 7 p.m. Fans that bring two canned food items to Gate A to either game will receive admission to the game for $1. The Wolverines are hoping to reach 1,000 cans from each game to donate to Food Gatherers. In addition, fans may also receive $1 admission to the men's Friday night game against Houston Baptist by presenting their Michigan vs. Ohio State football ticket at Gate A.
