Romulus Hoopster Coleman Signs Early with Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball program received a National Letter of Intent from Ronald Coleman, a 6-6, 210-pound forward from Romulus, Mich., during the early signing period (Nov. 12-19).

"We are excited to have Ronald join the Michigan Basketball program," said coach Tommy Amaker. "We think very highly of Ronald, the player and the person. We think he will have a very promising future here at Michigan."

Coleman is averaging 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.1 blocks a game after three years at Romulus High School. A three-year starter and two-time Romulus team MVP, Coleman has helped Romulus to a 40-24 record in three seasons while starting 57 of 64 games. He led Romulus to the 2003 MEGA Red-White playoff championship. He was a 2003 Detroit News Class A second team, All-West first team and All-Metro second team selection as well as a 2003 Detroit Free Press Class A All-State third team and All-West first team selection.

The Wolverines lose two seniors after the 2003-04 season: wing Bernard Robinson Jr. (Washington, D.C./New Hampton Prep, N.H.) and forward Colin Dill (Saginaw, Mich./Birmingham Country Day).
