Michigan Head Coach Tommy Amaker
On the game ... "I am certainly frustrated with our play tonight. You have to give Vanderbilt credit, they played us tough. Memorial Gym is a tough place to play. Vanderbilt played us very physically tonight, but I am disappointed in our performance. We battled back late in the first half, but couldn't catch up. They outplayed us around the rim and we just couldn't battle back."
On being outrebounded ... "I am disappointed by the rebounding margin tonight. This is the first time we've been outrebounded this year and I can't remember the last time we have been outrebounded by this much. We need to put emphasis on this to get better. I think we'll improve."
On Vanderbilt's defense ... "They doubled us in the post, so we didn't have any plays in the post. I thought this team was going to be a good shooting team, and we'll become a good shooting team at some point but haven't displayed that yet."
On how the team will respond ... "We have a few games before our conference schedule and have lots of growth that will take place. Tonight exposed our team's youth. I'm looking forward to seeing if we can get better. I think we will."
U-M Senior Bernard Robinson Jr.
On the game ... "They were just quicker to the spots than we were. I want to give Vanderbilt credit. They executed what they wanted to do much better than we did. Vanderbilt controlled the boards on us tonight."
On playing on road ... "It was a loud crowd and was a factor, but it's not the reason we lost. We simply didn't execute our offense well enough and get on the boards well enough."
On the offense ... "We took too many outside shots and didn't work our offense enough. We could have made a couple more passes on each possession to get easier shots."
U-M Sophomore Daniel Horton
On the loss ... "We just didn't do a good job of being tough. They were simply tougher than we were tonight. We take pride in our defense, our toughness and our shooting, but we didn't execute any of those tonight."
On his first-half injury ... "I wanted to come back in the second half to make sure it was okay. It probably affected my confidence, but that's not the reason we lost. They simply played better than we did."
