ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Six senior members of the 2002 University of Michigan football team have been invited to participate in the 2003 National Football League Combine scheduled for Feb. 20-24 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Ind. The NFL Scouting Office puts on the annual combine for the league's teams to test players on and off the field.
Three offensive players and three defensive performers for the Wolverines have been selected to participate in the event. Running back B.J. Askew (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain HS), wide receiver Ronald Bellamy (New Orleans, La./Archbishop Shaw HS) and tight end Bennie Joppru (Wayzata, Minn./Minnetonka HS) represent the Wolverine offense, while the defensive contingent consists of outside linebacker Victor Hobson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep, Pa.) and safeties Charles Drake (Los Angeles, Calif./Westchester HS) and Cato June (Washington, D.C./Anacostia HS).
The 2003 NFL Draft will be held April 26-27 in New York, N.Y.

NFL Draft prognosticator Mel Kiper Jr. has three Wolverines rated in the top five at their respective positions: Bennie Joppru (No. 2 at TE), B.J. Askew (No. 4 at FB) and Victor Hobson (No. 5 at OLB).
Pro Football Weekly listed Joppru as the top-rated senior tight end available for the draft.
Draft Insiders has Askew listed as the No. 33 overall prospect in the draft.
