FBL Service Projects/Community Events

The Michigan football team does what it takes to win on Saturdays during the fall -- but when not on the field, the staff and players also help to build winning communities in Michigan. Several events during the year show the dedication of the U-M football program to the local area, and in turn raise funds for important charitable causes such as C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, University of Michigan prostate cancer research and the Coach Carr Cancer Fund. Find out more about these events below:

U-M Football Carr's Wash for Kids
Members of the Michigan football team exchange their shoulder pads for towels, soap and water to give your car -- and Michigan fans of all ages -- a one-of-a-kind experience at "Carr's Wash for Kids," a benefit for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. In its two-year existence, the "Carr Wash" has raised more than $360,000 for Mott Hospital's "Champion for Children" campaign. M Go Blue for Mott Wristbands

The University of Michigan Athletic Department and C.S. Mott Children's Hospital have teamed to raise awareness and funding for the "Champions for Children" campaign currently underway to build a new children's and women's hospital at the University of Michigan. Wristbands with the words "M GO BLUE for Mott" are on sale for $2 at several local retail shops, including the M-Den.

WTKA's Michigan Football Takeover

Coach Carr and members of the Wolverine football program take over Sports Talk 1050 WTKA for 12 hours during the "Michigan Football Takeover," a benefit for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. The 2006 radio-a-thon raised $40,110 toward the campaign for a new women's and children's hospital at U-M. Details on the 2007 event are coming soon!

2007 Football Women's Academy

The Women's Football Academy is a fun, educational day where women can get on-the-field experience fron the leaders and best. Participants join Michigan players and Coach Carr and his staff, in drills, position instruction, offense, defense and special team strategies. The 2006 Academy raised $152,000 for the Coach Carr Cancer Fund Endowment, which boosted the fund total over $1 million. U-M Men's Football Fantasy Experience

The chance to live the dream of being a Michigan football player has arrived with the "U-M Men's Fantasy Football Experience," a two-day event that makes the dream come true. The authentic experience takes participants through several aspects of a typical game week including film sessions, game strategy and even the night-before-the-game dinner and stay at the Campus Inn hotel. This unforgettable event is a fund-raiser to help advance awareness, research and treatment of prostate cancer. Details on the 2007 event are coming soon!
