Four U-M Defenders to Participate in Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. -- Four University of Michigan senior defensive standouts -- linebackers Prescott Burgess (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding HS) and David Harris (Grand Rapids, Mich./Ottawa Hills HS), cornerback Leon Hall (Vista, Calif./Vista HS) and defensive end LaMarr Woodley (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw HS) -- are among the top 100 NFL draft prospects participating in the 2007 Under Armour Senior Bowl this week in Mobile, Alabama.

The Wolverine quartet will play on the North squad, which is being coached by Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden and his staff. The week-long practice session in front of NFL scouts culminates with the 58th annual game played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 27. The game will be televised nationally by the NFL Network beginning at 3 p.m. EST.

East-West Shrine Bowl Notes: Wide receiver Steve Breaston (North Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills HS) led a trio of former U-M players at the 82nd annual Dell East-West Shrine Game at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, this past weekend (Jan. 20). Breaston hauled in three passes for 26 yards and added five punt returns for 27 yards for the East squad, a 21-3 loser to the West. Defensive end Rondell Biggs (Southfield, Mich./Lathrup HS) collected three stops (two solos) and Willis Barringer (Toledo, Ohio/Scott HS) started the game at safety and played on special teams.
