Feb. 10, 2017
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Athletic Department announced Friday (Feb. 10) the season-ticketing information and pricing for enrolled students during the 2017-18 academic year. Michigan's innovative needs-based ticketing model for students has an application deadline of Feb. 26, and the formal student renewal process for football, men's basketball and ice hockey will begin March 10 with a March 31 deadline.
The student ticket price for football is unchanged on a per-game basis, with figures of $25 per game and $150 total ($90 need-based) for the Wolverines' six-game home schedule in 2017.
The student season ticket price of $175 ($105 needs-based) for men's basketball is a $25 reduction from the 2016-17 season, while the cost for ice hockey remains unchanged at $150 ($90 need-based).
"Michigan's popular needs-based ticketing program progresses into its third year and continues to provide an affordable opportunity for all students to enjoy a U-M sporting event," said Kurt Svoboda, Associate Athletic Director for External Communications and Public Relations. "Next year will see a slight decrease in the price of men's basketball season tickets for students due to the nature of scheduling and variables in dates and start times."
In the fall of 2014, the athletic department and Central Student Government collaborated with the Office of Financial Aid to provide reduced priced tickets for students who meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. The process for reduced pricing will be communicated to those eligible students by the Office of Financial Aid on Feb. 12 with a two-week application period.
The deadline for returning students to request tickets for the three identified sports is March 31. In addition to their game ticket, students will receive a free official season T-shirt with the purchase of the season ticket for each respective sport.
Following is the pricing for the three sports and the needs-based pricing:
|Sport||2017-18 Price||Federal Pell Grant Eligible Price|
There will be a $15 processing fee applied to the entire order.
In addition, currently enrolled students who purchase 2017 tickets will have the ability to order away game football tickets April 13-15, including the AdvoCare Classic vs. Florida on Sept. 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Newly-enrolled students (for the 2017-18 academic year) will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets starting approximately June 1 with a deadline of June 19. The specific dates will be communicated at a later date.
Students can attend any other Michigan varsity sporting event free of charge with a valid M-Card. Students may download the H.A.I.L. application for up-to-date information on events and promotions as well as the opportunity to win prizes.
