ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan football team announced Thursday (May 3) that its Oct. 13 homecoming game against Illinois at Michigan Stadium is slated for a 3:30 p.m. EDT kickoff and will be broadcast live by ABC.
It marks the 112th homecoming game in Ann Arbor, and it will be the 15th time U-M has hosted Illinois on homecoming. The Wolverines hold an 84-27 record in their previous 111 homecoming contests, including a 9-5 mark against the Fighting Illini. Michigan owns a 68-23-2 record all-time against Illinois and a 32-11-1 mark at home.
Michigan defeated Illinois, 31-14, last Nov. 12 in Champaign, Ill. The last time the two teams met in Michigan Stadium in 2010, the Wolverines pulled out a thrilling 67-65, three-overtime victory.
It marks the fourth confirmed kickoff time on U-M's football schedule. The Wolverines will travel to South Bend, Ind., on Sept. 22 to face Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. EDT in a game that will be broadcast by NBC. Following a bye week Sept. 29, U-M will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., on Oct. 6 for a 4 p.m. EDT, nationally televised game with Purdue on the Big Ten Network. The Wolverines will make their initial trip to Lincoln, Neb., on Oct. 27 to face Nebraska. The contest against the Cornhuskers will be shown on one of the ESPN platforms at 8 p.m. EDT.
