ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan football team in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference announced today (Monday, June 3) the conference schedule for the 2015 season.
The 2015 conference slate will consist of eight games for the final time before the Big Ten moves to a nine-game schedule in 2016. Like the 2014 season, U-M will face the other six schools from the East Division and two opponents from the West Division.
The Wolverines will open the 2015 conference schedule with their first trip to Maryland on Oct. 3. U-M will open its home conference schedule on Oct. 10 against Northwestern and host in-state rival Michigan State on Oct. 17 before observing an open date on Oct. 24.
Michigan will close its schedule with three of its final five games on the road. U-M will travel to Minnesota on Oct. 31 in the battle for the Little Brown Jug before hosting Rutgers for the first time in the Big House on Nov. 7. The Maize and Blue then will travel to Indiana on Nov. 14 and Penn State on Nov. 21 before closing the regular season with Ohio State at Michigan Stadium on Nov. 28.
Michigan will play three of its four non-conference games at the Big House in 2015. After opening the college football season at Utah on Thursday, Sept. 3, the Wolverines will host Oregon State on Sept. 12, UNLV on Sept. 19 and Brigham Young on Sept. 26.
Beginning in 2014, the Big Ten football division alignments will feature Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in the East Division and Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin in the West Division.
