ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Athletic Department announced Thursday (June 27) on-sale dates for ticket packs and single-game tickets for the 2013 football season.
Fans interested in purchasing ticket packages will find a pick-your-own three-game pack that includes choosing one game from three different groupings: Nebraska (Nov. 9) or Ohio State (Nov. 30), Minnesota (Oct. 5) or Indiana (Oct. 19) and Central Michigan (Aug. 31) or Akron (Sept. 14). These three-game packs are $245 plus a $30 order charge. Fans are limited to a maximum of six sets of tickets.
Back by popular demand is the Coke Zero Football Family Pack with two games to choose from: Central Michigan (Aug. 31) and Akron (Sept. 14). The Coke Zero Football Family Pack includes four (4) tickets, four (4) T-shirts from the M Den, four (4) Coke product fountain drinks, four (4) hot dogs and two (2) game programs -- all for $300. This is a savings of more than $100.
"Our fans reacted very positively to the launch of these family packs last season, and we are happy to bring them back with a second game, as well as a sponsor in Coke Zero," said Hunter Lochmann, chief marketing officer for Michigan Athletics. "We want to continue to make Michigan Stadium an affordable day out for families and the next generation of Michigan fans."
Donors to Michigan Athletics and football season-ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase these ticket packs on Tuesday, July 16, followed by the Michigan football digital community -- Facebook, Twitter, Michigan Insider and Mobile -- on Wednesday, July 17. Any remaining ticket packs will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, July 18.
Single-game tickets for all seven home games will go on sale starting Tuesday, July 30, to donors to Michigan Athletics and football season-ticket holders. Any remaining single-game tickets will go on sale to the Michigan football digital community on Wednesday, July 31, and finally to the general public on Thursday, Aug 1. Single-game tickets for the 2013 football season will be dynamically priced, a model which adjusts prices for single-game tickets based on a number of market factors.
"Dynamic pricing is a practice that has been widely used throughout the travel industry and is quickly becoming the standard across sports and entertainment organizations," said Lochmann. "Pricing dynamically will allow us to adjust single-game ticket prices upward or downward based on real-time market conditions with the biggest factor being fan demand and ticket scarcity. We've seen strong demand for tickets and encourage fans to buy early to access the best deals."
Michigan football season-ticket holders will not be affected by dynamic pricing and will continue to pay the lowest price for their select seat ($65/seat season-ticket price). Ticket-pack buyers will not be affected by dynamic pricing as well.
