ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan football senior wide receiver Roy Roundtree (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) has been named to the 2012 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced today (Tuesday, July 17).
Roundtree is among four Big Ten Conference players and 49 overall candidates listed for the award that goes to the nation's most outstanding receiver. He is U-M's active leader in career receptions (122), receiving yards (1,274) and receiving touchdowns (12). After wearing No. 12 during his first three seasons on the field, Roundtree will don Desmond Howard's No. 21 "Michigan Football Legend" jersey in 2012.
Semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award will be named on Nov. 12, and three finalists will be announced on Nov. 19. The winner will be revealed on Dec. 6 as part of the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show.
The Biletnikoff Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA). The NCFAA and its members are unveiling their preseason watch lists over a 12-day period in July. Fifteen of the association's 21 awards select a preseason watch list.
