ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Quarterback Denard Robinson (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach) of the University of Michigan football team has been named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year watch lists.

Robinson is one of six Big Ten quarterbacks, and 38 nationally, selected to the O'Brien watch list, the committee announced. Robinson was a semifinalist for the award in 2010, when he became the first player in NCAA history to pass for 2,500 yards and rush for 1,500 yards in a single season.

Sixteen semifinalists will be named for the award on Oct. 24, with three finalists being named on Nov. 21. The 2011 Davey O'Brien winner will be announced on "The Home Depot College Football Awards" on Dec. 8.

Robinson, the 2010 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, is one of four Big Ten players, and 40 nationally, named to the watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, the fourth-oldest individual college football accolade. After being narrowed down to 10 semifinalists in mid-November, the 2011 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 120 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced live on "ESPN SportsCenter" on Thursday, Dec. 8.
