BRISTOL, Conn. -- ESPN College Football GameDay will broadcast live from Arlington, Texas, when the University of Michigan football team takes on Alabama in the Cowboys Classic on Saturday, Sept. 1, the cable network announced today (Wednesday, Aug. 15). U-M and Alabama will kick off at Cowboys Stadium at 7 p.m. CDT and will be televised on ABC.

The Wolverines are 15-7 all-time when GameDay is present, including two wins last season. Michigan earned a 35-31 victory over Notre Dame when GameDay made its 10th all-time visit to Ann Arbor on Sept. 10, 2011, and U-M notched a 23-20 overtime win over Virginia Tech in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 3, 2012, when the show traveled to New Orleans, La.

Hosted by Chris Fowler, GameDay features former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner (1991) Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and David Pollack during the 10 a.m.-noon hours on ESPN. Samantha Steele joins the first hour on ESPNU with Pollack, and will also contribute reports, interviews and features throughout the final two hours with reporter Tom Rinaldi. SportsCenter anchor and ESPN Radio host Scott Van Pelt will make several on-site College GameDay appearances throughout the season, including the first weekend in Arlington.
