FRENCH LICK, Ind. -- Battling windy conditions throughout the third round of the Big Ten Championships, the University of Michigan men's golf team posted a 311 team total Saturday (May 3) to remain in 12th place after 54 holes at French Lick Resort's Pete Dye Course.

Sophomore Brett McIntosh (London, Ontario/Saunders SS) continued his strong showing at the conference championship, posting a third-round tally of two-over 74 to move from a tie for eighth into fourth place alone with a 222 total (71-77-74).

McIntosh started on the back nine and played it at even par. After a bogey on the first hole and a double bogey on the sixth pushed him to three over, he got a shot back with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole and closed out his 74 with two pars. McIntosh is six shots back of Minnesota's Jose Mendez, who leads with an even-par 216 (69-74-73).

Freshman Reed Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores HS) posted the second-best Wolverine tally of the day with a 77 that moved him into the top 30 individually. He added two more birdies during the third round, helping him to a current team-best tally of seven in the event. He sits tied for 29th at 231.

Sophomore Chris O'Neill (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run HS) ran into difficulties during his first nine holes and was seven over par at the turn. He carded an 81 and is tied for 43rd with one round remaining. Junior Noori Hyun (Seoul, Korea/Centreville HS [Va.]) posted a 79, putting him tied for 56th, while sophomore Andrew Yeager (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central HS) carded an 81 and is in 58th.

Michigan will be paired with Nebraska for the final round, beginning off the 10th tee between 8-8:32 a.m. Sunday morning (May 4).
