PARK RIDGE, Ill.-- University of Michigan junior Sam Mikulak (Corona del Mar, Calif./Corona del Mar) was named Big Ten Men's Gymnast of the Week today (Monday, March 25). He receives the award, the fourth of his career, after scoring two event titles on vault and high bar in U-M's tri-meet victory over No. 15 UIC and SUNY-Brockport on Saturday (March 23).
The 2012 United States Olympic team member placed first on the vault table (15.45), first on high bar (15.05) and fourth on still rings (15.35) in the pair of team victories. The event title on vault was the fifth of his career, while the high bar title marks the seventh of his U-M career.
