ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan senior men's gymnast Sam Mikulak (Corona del mar, Calif./Corona del mar), coming off leading the Wolverines to back-to-back NCAA titles and winning the NCAA all-around and parallel bar titles, has been named the College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week for the third straight week, the association announced today (Thursday, April 17).

The U.S. all-around champion secured his third NCAA all-around title in four years, scoring a 91.10 in the NCAA Team and All-Around competition (Friday, April 11). He followed his performance with an NCAA parallel-bar title (Saturday, April 12), defending his 2013 crown. He also took fourth on floor exercise and eighth on vault. Mikulak ends his Michigan career with a seven NCAA titles as well as 17 All-American citations, making him the third-most cited gymnast of all-time. The NCAA titles tie him with both Jim Hartung and Joe Giallombardo for the most ever in NCAA history.

Overall, it is the seventh honor of his career and third award of the season.

With his collegiate career concluded, Mikulak will remain in Ann Arbor and train and finish up his schooling, with an eye of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. His next competitive event will take place on May 29-June 1, as he will take part in the Anadia Cup in Anadia, Portugal.
