WINDSOR, Ontario -- Former U-M All-America men's gymnast Nino Marion (1956-59) was inducted into the Windsor-Essex Hall of Fame Friday (May 31).

During his tenure in Ann Arbor, Marion earned several top-six finishes at the NCAA Championships and was voted team MVP on three occasions while becoming an NCAA All-American on still rings in 1959.

At the conclusion of his U-M career, he competed in several Canadian National Championships and was national champion runner-up on four occasions. Upon graduating, he competed internationally, representing Canada twice at the Pan American Games in Chicago in 1959 and won a bronze medal on the still rings in 1963.

Following his retirement from competitive gymnastics, Marion continued to be deeply entrenched with the sport of gymnastics, spending the next three decades as a coach and administrator.
