Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On the game overall ... "Overall, it was a good game for Michigan to win in the CCHA standings. We're quite a ways behind Ohio State, so that was an important victory. On the big picture, it was a great spectacle and everyone that put that together did a lot of work for it. I think it came off really well. We have no complaints with the facilities and the people were terrific. The ice was fine; it was as good as any of outdoor games. The glass, the crowd, everything. It was another good one of those special events. These outdoor games are all a little different and this was another good one."
On Shawn Hunwick's play this weekend ... "He had a good weekend obviously. I didn't think he had as many chances late in the game, but there were parts of the game where he had to be sharp. I think he gives our team a lot of confidence and he's playing rock solid right now. He came out of this weekend with only one goal against and you've got to be playing well to do that against a team like Ohio."
U-M Defenseman Greg Pateryn
On the difference between this game and the previous two outdoor games of his career ... "The first two years you're surrounding by people and they're kind of far away. Here at this baseball stadium, you look through the glass and everyone is a bit closer to you and that's kind of neat. To see a different venue, not just a football stadium, but being in a baseball stadium like this was a good change."
On the strong defensive play as of late ... "Obviously having Jonny Merrill back there is a big step for us. He brings another level to the depth of our defense. But everyone is doing a really good job down low. I think that's the biggest thing. Everyone is taking pride in their job in the defensive zone. We finally realized that the stuff on the offensive side will take care of itself and we'll leave that to the forwards. I think everyone is rolling right now, everyone's doing a really good job and we can't really ask for anything more."
U-M Forward David Wohlberg
On Ohio State's struggles in the middle of the second period ... "They're a good team. We just kept bringing the pressure every single line. That's what is working for us right now and it wasn't them, I think it was our stronger play."
On the confidence boost of the two goals 28 seconds apart ... "You saw after they scored their goal it was a big uprising for them. Then when we go out and we score two real quick it's a big push for us and I think it emptied their spirits a little bit and helped us play better."
