Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On what it means for the senior class, getting their first win at Munn Ice Arena ... "Well it means a lot. They're pretty excited about it. They have a lot of respect for their opponent. These games are big games, and now they're even bigger with the Big Ten Conference. Those are big points in the standings. Any way you want to cut it, that's a big weekend for Michigan against a good opponent."
On how big this weekend was for the team ... "Well it's a big weekend. We had all this time to think about our last four games, which were all losses. We had all the practice time, all the meetings and the video, talking about what we're going to do, what we have to do, but to go out and do it is another thing. We did and good for them."
On the team's defensive zone coverage ... "I thought we were much better. We gave up one or two really good chances, grade-A chances. The one in the third (period), [Zach] Nagelvoort made the save and sure enough we go down and score. So that's when (you know) things are going your way."
U-M Freshman Forward JT Compher
On what it means as a freshman to sweep Michigan State ... "To sweep State, it was awesome to win here in this building. It was packed, the fans were going, so it was fun to get the win here."
On scoring his third shorthanded goal of the season ... "It started with Mac [Bennett]. He made a great play down low. Then Andrew [Copp] made a great pass to me. All I had to do was tap it in the empty net."
U-M Senior Defenseman Mac Bennett
On winning for the first time at Munn Ice Arena ... "It feels pretty good. This is a huge rivalry for us. Winning last night, and especially capping it off tonight, that's huge for our team. Where we were at, this is a big confidence boost for us."
On the mood of the locker room after the game ... "Everyone's really excited right now and for good reason. We just had a good weekend. We finally got some offense going in this game too. So we're excited, and we're ready to look forward."
