Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On the game ... "You have to give Bowling Green a ton of credit for the season they had, particularly the last month, they were the real deal, and we saw it again tonight. It was anyone's game, we were able to get back into the game after a two-goal deficit. I thought that goal near the end of the first period was a huge goal and then obviously in overtime anything can happen. We've been in a few of these, but you've got be lucky too."
On Michigan's early game performance ... "We were a little slower and a little tentative with the puck. Again, give Bowling Green credit, but it wasn't the pace we wanted to play at. Don't ask me why."
U-M Senior Forward David Wohlberg
On fatigue and overtime ... "Obviously fatigue sets in at some point, but we train all year, all summer, for games like this. We had a game like this against Notre Dame and we were able to fight through it mentally and physically and that paid off for us."
On Bowling Green ... "The last weekend of the season we knew they were a good team and we knew we would have a challenge coming in here. They are a really confident team and that is obvious when they went up two goals on us. That's just a testament to their coaching and their players' growth."
U-M Sophomore Forward Luke Moffatt
On game-winning goal in double overtime ... "We knew it was going to be an ugly goal, at that point in the game, shots are coming on the net and you've got to drive the net hard too and hopefully get a rebound. Fortunately, it came right to me and I was able to get it in."
On Western Michigan ... "Well, obviously it is great to have two Michigan teams in the finals. Western is a growing team, they have been here the last two years. I think there is still a little salt from them beating us last year, and we want to get back at them for that. It's going to be a big game."
On Bowling Green junior goaltender Andrew Hammond's performance ... "He has had a great run these last few weeks and is a huge part of their team being here. We got a couple of posts, but he was on his game all game. We were fortunate to get a couple of bounces our way and we put one in on the end. Hammond stood on his head for the team."
