Michigan's three-game win streak came to an end, dropping a 4-3 decision to the visiting Miami RedHawks. Michigan's record now stands at 3-2-0.
Sophomore forward Travis Lynch scored his third goal of the season and now has points in back-to-back games (1g, 1a).
Alex Guptill scored his fourth goal of the season with his second-period tally, extending his point streak to four games (4g, 2a).
Lindsay Sparks scored his second goal of the season with his third-period mark and had an early assist for his first multi-point effort of the campaign.
Michigan is now 1-1-0-0 in CCHA play and the loss is the first to Miami since Nov. 11, 2011.
Michigan was 0-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill. After starting season 10-for-10 on the penalty kill, Michigan has now surrendered power-play goals in two straight games.
Junior defenseman Kevin Clare led the team with three blocked shots.
Luke Moffatt and Alex Guptill tied for the team lead with five shots on goal.
Freshman Jared Rutledge made his second start between the pipes for the Wolverines, turning aside 31 shots in the loss.
