Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On Derek DeBlois game-winner... "I would say that it's fitting that Derek DeBlois scored the game-winning goal because he took the penalty on their tying goal. It was fitting that he was able to make up for it."
On giving up the two-goal leads ... "We know we're on the road and its hostile, and if they get something going, they get confidence. They've got a lot of pride in that locker room. It's part of playing on the road. Look what happened in Rochester; we gave up a four-goal lead and not by design."
On the offensive breakthrough tonight ... "I'm pleased with it to a certain extent. But you know 5-on-5 we didn't score a lot in this series. I think Phil (Di Giuseppe's) goal was 5-on-5 and Derek's was and that was it. The other was a shorthanded and power-play goal, but it was good tonight. It's good to score any goals, especially on the road."
U-M Senior Forward Derek DeBlois
On his game-winning goal... "I felt like I didn't deserve it. I knew we had to respond, especially taking that penalty; you never want to hurt the team like that. I had a lot of energy; it was a good shot by De Jong, good pass by Guptill, and luckily, it was a tap-in goal, anyone could have done it."
On getting four goals tonight on offense... "We've been in a lot of those 2-1, 3-2 games. We've got the guys. We've just got to start putting pucks in the net. I think it's going to take those gritty goals. It's nice that we popped four in. Unfortunately, we gave up three goals. We don't want to do that; but we'll move on to the next one."
U-M Sophomore Forward Andrew Copp
On the success of the power play this weekend ... "It's funny because a lot them were broken plays. The two yesterday, we ended up hitting Moffatt in the middle for a good play. But my goal today it hit off Boo (Nieves), and I came in, took a shot, going to the net for a rebound. Broken plays, but it's nice to get those on the board."
On if the team is satisfied with a split of the series at Nebraska-Omaha ... "I don't think you could ever say you're satisfied with a split. But coming into today, we're satisfied with how we played today and coming out with a win, especially with them coming back like last night. For us to bounce back and gut out the last five minutes or so for the win was huge for us."
