Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On the game's first period ... "I think the most important thing in the first period was that we came out and we were ready to play. We gave up that goal in the first minute and that gets the crowd and everyone into the game. I like the way our team just put that behind them and slowly took over the game."
On the team's play tonight vs. last night ... "I thought we played harder and better than last night; we finally got some puck luck. And even though they got some momentum in the game, our team hung in there. We didn't capitalize on a couple of our chances that would have distanced us, but never the less, give them credit. They are a good team at home and they proved it."
On Steve Racine's play ... "He could have gotten rattled on that first goal, but I thought he hung in there and he made the saves that he had to make. Even though they got a couple of goals, he gave us a chance."
U-M Senior Forward Lindsay Sparks
On playing with A.J. (Treais) ... "I played with A.J. (Treais) years past. When we were freshmen and sophomores we played together and we have some pretty good chemistry. I like playing with Kevin Lynch as well. He works really hard and takes care of his man, so both those guys are good to play with."
On tonight's outcome ... "It was huge. I think the guys were pretty excited. Three points would have been really nice, but getting at least the two points was really important for us."
