ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Arby's has signed on as the presenting sponsor for "The Big Chill at the Big House" outdoor hockey game on Dec. 11 at Michigan Stadium, the University of Michigan Athletics Department and IMG College-Michigan Sports Marketing announced today (Tuesday, April 20). Tickets for the event pitting U-M against in-state rival Michigan State go on sale to the general public starting at 8:30 a.m. EDT tomorrow (Wednesday, April 21).
With a Michigan Stadium capacity of more than 100,000 and already 60,000 tickets sold or committed to before the public sale, The Big Chill at the Big House has the potential to break the world record for attendance at an ice hockey game. The Wolverines and Spartans established the world-record mark at 74,544 during "The Cold War" at Spartan Stadium on Oct. 6, 2001.
Tickets are available online at MGoBlue.com/tickets or by phone (734-764-0247 or 866- 296-6849). End zone tickets are priced at $15 per ticket. For orders of 15 tickets or more, a group rate of $10 per ticket applies.
"Arby's Restaurants are thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Big Chill at the Big House," said Tina Hering, Arby's marketing manager. "The long-standing rivalry between these two universities will no doubt culminate in a very exciting game. Whenever a brand can be a part of the nation's largest outdoor hockey game, it is truly special. We will be working with our partners to bring the excitement of this event to our restaurants and share with our guests."
"We're excited to have Arby's as a partner as we get ready to host The Big Chill at the Big House," said Dave Brandon, U-M Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Arby's was with us last year with Michigan Sports Marketing and we're happy to see that they are eager to increase their participation with Michigan Athletics."
Thebigchillatthebighouse.com will make its debut on April 21, featuring interactive elements like Victor the Talking Puck and customizable desktop wallpaper.
