ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- For University of Michigan ice hockey fans who cannot wait for the 2013-14 season to start, Friday night's (Aug. 2) Alumni Game at Yost Ice Arena offers the perfect way to get back into the swing of things. Nearly 40 former Michigan players are expected to play in the annual contest that will start at 6:15 p.m.
Admission is free, and immediately after the alumni game ends at 7:15 p.m., fans are invited to take the ice for a public skate. The one-hour skate will also be free. Ice skates will be available to rent for $3.
On Saturday (Aug. 3) at 10 a.m., the alumni weekend will continue with the annual golf outing at the University of Michigan Golf Course. More than 100 golfers, including former U-M players and sponsors of Michigan ice hockey, will tee it up for the scramble event.
