ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan ice hockey team has announced the "Ultimate Michigan Hockey Fan" search, beginning today (Friday, Nov. 22) and running through Monday, Dec. 23.
During this time period, Michigan hockey fans can submit nominations for the fan most deserving of the title "Ultimate Michigan Hockey Fan" at MGoBlue.com/go/ultimatehockeyfan. Fans that enter will have a chance to win tickets to the Michigan vs. Minnesota game on Saturday, March 15. The "Ultimate Michigan Hockey Fan" will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the 2014 Big Ten Tournament (March 20-22) in St. Paul, Minn.
The "Ultimate Michigan Hockey Fan" submission form encourages fans to upload videos through YouTube, share content on Instagram/Vine, and send photos via email to email@example.com. Entries can also be sent by mail.
At the end of the submission period the top 16 entries will be chosen for a fan vote, and the eight teams receiving the most votes will advance into a bracketed competition. Similar to the NCAA Tournament, there will be four rounds of competition to determine the champion.
The entries in each round will be posted on MGoBlue.com/go/ultimatehockeyfan for two weeks for the public to vote.
All 16 individuals that are chosen as finalists will receive two tickets to the Michigan vs. Minnesota ice hockey game on Saturday, March 15. The "Ultimate Michigan Hockey Fan" will be announced during the first intermission of the game.
Due to NCAA regulations, the winner or the winner's guest cannot be in grades 9-12. Further contest rules and regulations can be found at MGoBlue.com/go/ultimatehockeyfan.
