ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's lacrosse head coach John Paul announced the addition of attackman Mike Francia (Wilton, Conn./Wilton/Villanova) to the roster for the 2013 season. Francia, who played his first season of collegiate lacrosse with the Villanova Wildcats, joins the team as a sophomore and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Mike is going to be a great addition to our team," said Paul. "He is also a perfect fit for the culture that we're building."
As a freshman for the Wildcats in 2012, Francia played in 12 games, notching a goal, two assists, and collected a ground ball. He joined the Wildcats following an outstanding prep career at Wilton High School in Wilton, Conn., earning All-America honors in his junior and senior seasons, and holds the distinction of the school's all-time leading scorer with 329 career points. Additionally, he led Wilton to the Connecticut State Championship in 2011.
