CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- University of Michigan men's lacrosse sophomore Brad Lott (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) has been named ECAC Specialist of the Week, the conference announced Monday (Feb. 24). Lott is coming off a week where he won 36-of-53 (68 percent) faceoffs and collected 20 ground balls as U-M went 1-1 on the week.
A faceoff specialist, Lott went 22-of-30 in the win over Detroit, to go along with 11 ground balls. He followed up the effort on Saturday (Feb. 22), against Johns Hopkins, winning 14-of-23 attempts at the dot, including going 8-of-14 against one of the top faceoff men in the NCAA heading into the game in JHU's Drew Kennedy. Lott added nine groundballs in his standout performance against the Blue Jays.
Lott is the first Wolverine to garner Specialist of the Week and the fifth player all-time to take home an ECAC honor. Classmate Chase Brown (Annapolis, Md./Severn) was the last player to earn a conference plaudit, as he was named ECAC Rookie of the Week on April 1 of last season.
The Wolverines return home on Saturday (March 1), hosting the No. 15 Cornell Big Red at 1 p.m. inside Oosterbaan Field House.
