CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- University of Michigan men's lacrosse midfielder Kyle Jackson (Sarnia, Ontario/The Hill School) has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week. Jackson earns the honor after an eight-point effort of three goals and five assists in games against High Point (March 6) and Hobart (March 9).
In addition to his point total, Jackson had 15 shots, 11 of which were on frame, and collected four ground balls. His four assists against High Point established a new program record. Overall, Jackson leads the team in goals (9), assists (6) and points (15).
Jackson is the third U-M player in program history to garner such an honor and makes it back-to-back accolades for the Wolverines, as classmate Gerald Logan (Sachem, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River/Hotchkiss School) took home Rookie of the Week honors on March 4.
U-M will take on ECAC opponent Fairfield on Thursday (March 14) at 7 p.m., and finish off a seven-game road trip with a trek to Flushing, N.Y., on Saturday (March 16) to take on Colgate in the Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. The matchup is slated for a 3 p.m. start and will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
