ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- A pair of University of Michigan men's lacrosse players are set to play in a series of international friendly scrimmages this weekend (Sept. 28-29) at SUNY Cortland in Cortland, N.Y. Sophomore Kyle Jackson (Sarnia, Ont./Hill School) will represent the Iroquois Nationals, while senior Dakota Sherman (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) will suit up for Israel.
This will be Jackson's first appearance for the Iroquois Nationals, while Sherman took part in a similar matchup against the Philippines on Aug. 18, with Israel winning 18-2.
The Iroquois Nationals and Israel will meet up on Saturday for a full 80-minute international-style game starting at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, Israel will begin the day at 10 a.m. by taking on the Siena College Saints. Syracuse will then play back-to-back matches, facing Sherman and Israel at 11 a.m. The Orange will then square off against Jackson and the Iroquois Nationals at noon. The day will conclude for Jackson after the Nationals face Siena College at 2 p.m.
The matches are part of a fundraiser for the Nationals, who are coached by SUNY Cortland head coach Steve Beville. Tickets for the event are $8 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 10 and under.
