ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team will hold its inaugural Alumni Weekend beginning Saturday (Oct. 20) and culminating with a pair of special events the following day.
The team's East-West scrimmage will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 21) at Oosterbaan Field House, and the day will conclude with an alumni match-up at 1 p.m. inside Michigan Stadium."The East-West scrimmage is a long-standing tradition and it's a great way to end our fall practices," said head coach John Paul. "The guys get pumped up for it, the coaches get pumped up for it, and there's a lot of pride on the line. For fans, this is a really good opportunity to get an early look at Team Two."
Following the scrimmage, the winning team will receive a steak dinner; the losing squad will be served hot dogs.
More than 80 U-M men's lacrosse alumni are expected to participate in the first alumni game.
"I'm thrilled that so many alums are coming back this weekend," said Paul. "We had a tremendous response. It will be really special to give our club team alums the experience of suiting up in Michigan Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This weekend brings home the family aspect of our program as much as anything we do."
Each event is free of charge and open to the public.Contact: Scott Kemps (734) 763-4423
