Pereira becomes U-M's eighth MLS SuperDraftee, as former teammate Kofi Opare most recently went No. 24 overall to the LA Galaxy in 2012. U-M has now had three players go professional in the past two seasons, as Luke Coulson (Cardiff City, English Premier Leage) signed in 2012 as well.
"Our staff is very pleased for Fabio as he gets a fantastic opportunity to realize his dreams with a fantastic organization, the Seattle Sounders," said Michigan head coach Chaka Daley. "Our U-M Soccer family wishes him the best of luck in his journey of becoming a professional soccer player."

"Also, thank you to the athletic department staff and the University of Michigan as a whole for believing in me as a student-athlete. It was an honor representing the best University in the world for four seasons, and I will be forever be grateful for all of the support."
