CHICAGO, Ill. -- Three University of Michigan soccer matches will be televised live this fall, the Big Ten Network announced on Tuesday (Aug. 7). The U-M men's soccer team will host the Network at home in back-to-back weeks, facing Ohio State on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6, against Penn State at a time to be determined. The U-M women will be featured on Thursday, Oct. 18, as it faces Ohio State at 8 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio.
The Big Ten Network will televise more soccer this season than ever before, with at least 60 matches set to air on the Big Ten Network. Each Big Ten Network broadcast is also available on BTN2Go. BTN's soccer coverage also includes the "BTN Soccer Report," a weekly web-only show hosted by Kevin Egan. The semifinals and final of the men's and women's Big Ten Tournaments will also be televised live by the Big Ten Network. The semifinals of the women's will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., with matches beginning at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The championship match will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, at a time to be determined. The semifinals of the conference tournament will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., with matches beginning at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. CST. The championship match will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11 at a time to be determined.
Additional matches will be scheduled during the season for delayed broadcast as part of the network's Student U initiative.
