Once a week during the 2009 season senior defender and second-year captain, Danny Gray will give you an inside look at the U-M men's soccer program.
Dear Michigan Soccer fans,
We need you this week---we need you bad.
After a tough loss on the road at Penn State to start our conference schedule, we got our first Big Ten win of the season in our conference home opener this past weekend against a solid Wisconsin squad. This coming Saturday, October 10 at 3:30 is a MAKE or BREAK game in our pursuit of the Big Ten Championship. There is no doubt we dug ourselves into a hole by losing our first game but all hope is not lost. If we continue to get full points in our remaining Big Ten games we could easily see ourselves wearing those BIG, SHINY, CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS that I have been dreaming about since my first day on campus.
We have four conference games left and we need wins in all four to give ourselves the best shot at finishing at the top of the table. That starts this Saturday against a VERY good Indiana side which has already faced an extremely tough schedule, and therefore gained valuable experience in their preconference schedule.
WE NEED YOU! We need your yells. We need your claps. We need your support! Indiana is a perennial powerhouse and last year ended our season after knocking us out of both the semifinal in the Big Ten Tournament and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA's.
We are UNDEFEATED at home this year, thanks to your support - and we desperately want to remain so at the final whistle this Saturday (Plus, we’re on TV---everybody wants to be on TV right??)
Come to see Mauro (Fuzetti) and Justin (Meram) dicing through the box, come to see Julian (Robles) and (Adam) Keller getting into hard tackles, come to see Moody's (Hamoody Saad) legendary free kicks. Please come out and be our 12th man to help us take down Indiana! Come EARLY and be LOUD.
See you Saturday.
