BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's and women's swimming and diving teams were back in the water on Saturday (Oct. 26) for the Eddie Reese Double Distance Invitational at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

The meet was a non-scoring combined practice along with the men's and women's teams from Indiana and Texas. There were no results. The teams competed in a variety of long-distance events, including a 2,000-yard freestyle, a 600-yard individual medley and all four strokes in the 300-yard variety. The meet is named for Eddie Reese, the current head swimming coach at Texas.

The Michigan women's team will be back in the water on Friday (Nov. 1), as it makes the short trip to Toledo for a dual meet. The competition with the Rockets begins at 5 p.m. The men return to action for a pair of competitions on Friday, Nov. 22, as the swimmers host the University of Michigan Open at Canham Natatorium and the divers compete at the Pitt Panthers Diving Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa.
