WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Four members of the No. 1-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team were 'A' finalists and all five divers scored points off the platform to conclude competition at the Purdue Invitational on Sunday (Nov. 18) at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. The Wolverines, who sent only 16 student-athletes to the meet, finished sixth as a team with 198 points.

A trio of Wolverines scored points in the 200-yard breaststroke, led by a pair of freshman 'A' finalists in Matt McNamara (Huntington Woods, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) and Paul Corbae (Madison, Wis./Westlake). McNamara finished fourth (2:03.33), while Corbae took eighth (2:05.97). Junior/sophomore Adam Oxner (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) also scored points, touching the wall in 15th (2:08.95).

Junior Jack Lee (North Egremont, Mass./Berkshire School) led the divers, finishing third (326.35) on the 10-meter platform. Juniors James Ross (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) and Thomas Jahnke (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) were ninth (263.35) and 10th (259.50), respectively, while sophomore Kevin Bain (Northville, Mich./Northville) took 13th (224.60) and junior Nate Rietberg (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) followed up in 15th (195.60).

The Wolverines had two points scorers in the 1,650-yard freestyle, led by junior/sophomore Zach Kelch (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), who finished seventh (15:47.05). Junior/sophomore Jonathon Ekleberry (Rochester, Mich./Avondale) was ninth (15:57.24).

Freshman Will Raynor (Omaha, Neb./Creighton Prep) continued his strong weekend in the pool, scoring points in another 'A' final with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (1:50.87). Another freshman, Nick Killeen (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier), finished 11th in the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.85).

The Wolverines next return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 30, for the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa. The three-day competition runs through Sunday, Dec. 2.
