ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Five members of the No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team will participate in the Ohio State Last Ditch NCAA Qualifier meet on Sunday (March 4) at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. The meet serves as the final opportunity to earn a qualifying time for the NCAA Championships or improve on a previous time, and will begin at noon.
Among the swimmers scheduled to participate for the Wolverines are seniors Dane Vanderkaay (Rochester, Mich./Adams), Casey Sreenan (Miami, Fla./Christopher Columbus) and Jan Konarzewski (Warsaw, Poland/LO im Andersa). Additionally, junior Roman Willets (Whitehouse, Ohio/St. Francis deSales) and sophomore Kyle Duckitt (Johannesburg, South Africa/St. John's College) will make the trip to Columbus for the third time this season.
Michigan, fresh off its 36th Big Ten Championships title, will be looking for its 12th consecutive top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships on March 22-24 in Federal Way, Wash. The official psych sheet for the NCAA Championships will be released next Wednesday (March 7) at www.usaswimming.org/ncaa.
