ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team will send four swimmers to the Yellow Jacket Championship Qualifier on Saturday (March 8), as it looks to bolster its roster ahead of the NCAA Championships later this month. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. inside the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
The four swimmers include sophomore Matt McNamara (Huntington Woods, Mich./Univ. of Detroit Jesuit) and freshmen Jason Chen (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley), Chris Klein (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Cameron Stitt (Portland, Ore./Sunset). McNamara and Klein will swim the 100-yard breaststroke, Chen will swim the 100-yard backstroke and Stitt will swim the 1,650-yard freestyle.
All four men have already received NCAA 'B' cuts in their respective races, but will swim this weekend with hopes of lowering those times even more ahead of the NCAA Championships, held March 27-29 in Austin, Texas. Selections for the NCAA Championships and the official psych sheet will be released Wednesday (March 12).
