PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Freshman Jeremy Babinet (Redwood City, Calif.) of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team has been chosen to represent Team USA at the 20th World Maccabiah Games, per an announcement from Maccabi USA on Wednesday (April 19).
The Games will be held from July 4-18 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100-plus athletes who will join the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.
Babinet will swim at the Maccabiah Games for the second consecutive cycle, also having participated in 2013. Primarily a breaststroker, Babinet made Michigan's roster for the Big Ten Championships in February, finishing as high as 14th in the 100-yard breaststroke.
