Former Swimmer Wunderlich to be Inducted into Georgia Aquatics HOF

NORCROSS, Ga. -- Former University of Michigan men's swimmer and 1996 U.S. Olympian Eric Wunderlich (1989-91, 1993) was announced Monday (Aug. 11) as one of five inductees to the Georgia Aquatics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Atlanta Athletic Club.

Wunderlich represented the United States in several international competitions, including the Pan Pacific Championships, the FINA World Championships and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he took sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke.

He is known as one of the best breaststrokers in program history, winning an NCAA individual championship in the 200-yard surface breaststroke in 1993 in addition to four Big Ten individual titles. Wunderlich continues to be ranked among the top 10 in program history in both the 200-yard breaststroke (fourth) and 100-yard breaststroke (seventh).
