It was Michigan's first road dual match of the season.
Michigan drops to 2-7 all-time in dual matches against Duke. The two teams will meet again for a dual match on Feb. 26, also in Durham.
For the ITA Kick-Off Weekend and at the ITA National Team Indoors Championships, doubles matches in progress when the doubles point is clinched will be abandoned.
The singles lineup remained the same with the exception of Bernstien and Cha, who were swapped in the singles lineup. Bernstein played at No. 5 in Michigan's first two dual meets, but moved up to No. 4 against Duke. Cha was at No. 5 today.
The last time Michigan was shut out in a dual match was April 20, 2008, at Ohio State.
