U-M began the dual by earning the doubles point for the 11th time in 16 matches, claiming victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Freshman Tyler Gardiner (Novi, Mich./Northville) and junior Vlad Stefan (Bucharest, Romania) finished first, defeating Youngstown State's Zeeshan Ismail and Sharvil Nawghare, 8-3, at the No. 3 spot. Moments later, junior Michael Zhu (Princeton, N.J./Keystone National) followed by surrendering only two games in a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ismail at the No. 4 position. Shortly thereafter, Wong clinched the match for the Maize and Blue, notching a 6-0, 6-3 decision over Campos at the No. 5 singles spot.

Stefan, Rossi and Gardiner rounded out U-M's singles wins at the No. 1, 2 and 6 positions, respectively.
