Wolverines Sign Siimar Brothers from Estonia to NLIs

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team has announced the signing of Kristofer Siimar and Mattias Siimar to National Letters of Intent. The twin brothers from Estonia are set to join the program for the 2017-18 season.

"We are very excited to have Matthias and Kristofer join the Michigan tennis program next fall," said Michigan head coach Adam Steinberg. "We look forward to them making an immediate impact to our team."

Kristofer Siimar (Tallinn, Estonia)

Righthanded ... According to ITF holds a career singles record of 37-38 ... Holds a career doubles record of 58-23 ... Represented Estonia in the Davis Cup in 2017 with a record of 0-1 in doubles play.

Mattias Siimar (Tallinn, Estonia)

Lefthanded ... According to ITF holds a career singles record of 71-46 ... Holds a career doubles record of 66-28 ... Represented Estonia in the Davis Cup the past three years with a 3-1 doubles record and two singles appearances ... Played in the Junior Boys' Singles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2016 and the U.S. Open in 2015 ... Played in the Junior Boys' Doubles at the Australian Open (quarterfinalist), Wimbledon and U.S. Open in 2016 and the U.S. Open in 2015 ... Made it to the semifinals in doubles play in the 2016 European Junior Championships.
