Daniel has been ranked as high as No. 8 among high school seniors according to www.TennisRecruiting.net, and he is considered a blue chip recruit by the website. Berque has signed five blue chip recruits in the past three years.
"I'm thrilled that Drew is going to be joining us next year, said U-M head coach Bruce Berque. "He's clearly one of the best players of his senior class. He's been a champion throughout his career and holds several national junior titles. Drew has a reputationfor being a fierycompetitor. He's a college sports junkie, and I think he's going to take that competitiveness he already has to another level when he starts playing for Michigan. Drew is also one of the better athletes you're going to find. He's got great speed and quickness. I fully expect him to maximize his talents once he gets to Michigan."
The Wolverines will graduate one senior, Matko Maravic(Zagreb, Croatia/V. Gimnazija), at the conclusion of the 2008 dual match season.
