ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Junior heptathletes Kurt Reichenbach (Brighton, Mich./Pinckney Community) and Joe Strizich (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius College Prep) represented the University of Michigan men's track and field team on the final day of the GVSU Big Meet on Saturday (Feb. 12) at the Laker Turf Building. Reichenbach finished the heptathlon in third place with 4,999 points, with Strizich coming in 10th place (4,104 points).
Reichenbach finished sixth in both the 60-meter hurdles (8.79) and pole vault (14-1 1/4 ft.), and third in the 1,000-meter run (2:47.67). Strizich was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.84), tied for seventh in the pole vault (13-9 1/4 ft.) and 12th in the 1,000-meter run (3:04.78). Kevin Lanier (Eastern Michigan) won the competition with 5,175 points).
With two weeks until the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the Wolverines return to Ann Arbor to host the Silverston Invitational next Saturday (Feb. 19) at 10 a.m.
