FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team had three student-athletes earn All-America second team honors on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday (March 8) at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track.
In the 5,000-meter run, fifth-year seniors Dan Lowry (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle College) closed his collegiate runner career by finishing 10th in a time of 13:54.41. Fellow fifth-year senior Bobby Aprill (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) followed Lowry across the line, placing 14th in 14:10.96.
In the field, junior/sophomore Cody Riffle (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) finished 12th in the shot put with a toss of 18.09 meters (59-4.25).
The NCAA Indoor Championships will resume tomorrow (Saturday, March 9) at 11 a.m. CST, where senior/junior Ethan Dennis (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grandville) will compete in the weight throw at 2 p.m. CST.
